Geometry

Wednesdays, 2:30 - 4pm (CST)

Geometry is a one-year class.

Students meet once-a-week for 16 weeks for both the Fall and Spring semesters.

Prerequisite: Algebra 1 or Similar Course

Topics Covered

A high-school level class that focuses on the study of mathematical shapes, their positions in space, and relationships between them.  

  • 2D Shapes (such as triangles, quadrilaterals, and circles)
  • 3D Shapes (such as cubes, cones, and spheres)
  • Similarity and Congruence
  • Theorems and Postulates
  • Transformations, and 
  • Trigonometric Ratios

Homework is 2 to 3 hours per week.

Semester Projects

Earning the Honors Qualification

Each semester, students complete a 10-week project to deepen their understanding of geometric concepts. 

Each project combines hands-on activities with applied mathematics.
