Hello! I’m Amy Ott, a long-time homeschooling mom of 3 children. I earned my Bachelor’s of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin in 1994. I worked for small- and startup- businesses for several years before leaving the tech industry in 2000 to start a family.
In the 18 years I homeschooled my own children, I taught numerous classes in the Co-op setting, from math to woodworking, cooking to government. I’ve been teaching formal math classes to other homeschoolers for four years.
My general philosophy to education is that learning is life-long. Anyone can learn math with the right support and encouragement. I use the Aleks(R) website because the lessons are easy-to-follow, with minimal repetition, and strategic reviews.
