Flipped Classroom

Students watch video and work through practice problems before coming to class. (Answer key provided.)

Group Activities

Students solve math puzzles, play math games, or collaborate on homework during class time.
(Homework answers entered online.)

Prerequisite: Pre-Algebra or Similar Course

Full year class

Students attend once-a-week for 16 weeks in both the Fall and Spring semesters.

Curriculum based on typical public-school textbook. (Purchase not required.)

Topics Covered

Building on topics covered in Pre-Algebra, this class will develop aptitude in Algebra and prepare high-school students for Algebra II.

  • Percents and Probabilities
  • Quadratics and Radicals
  • Systems (2×2)
  • Word Problems

Homework is 2 to 3 hours per week.

Earning the "Honors" Qualification

Each semester, students complete a 10-week project to deepen their understanding of algebraic concepts. 

Each project combines hands-on activities, financial analysis, and applied mathematics.
