Algebra I

Wednesdays, 9-10:30am (CST)

Algebra 1 is a one-year class.  

Students attend once-a-week for 16 weeks in both the Fall and Spring semesters.  

**Note: Algebra 1 will be transitioned to the Aleks(R) online curriculum for Academic Year 2025-2026

Prerequisite: Pre-Algebra or Similar Course

Topics Covered

Building on topics covered in Pre-Algebra, this class will develop aptitude in Algebra and prepare high-school students for Algebra II.

  • Equations and Inequalities
  • Ratios and Fractions
  • Percents and Probabilities
  • Graphing
  • Word Problems

Homework is 2 to 3 hours per week.

Semester Projects

Earning the Honors Qualification

Each semester, students complete a 10-week project to deepen their understanding of algebraic concepts. 

Each project combines hands-on activities, financial analysis, and applied mathematics.
